The Darkness II was a game I was very excited to work on since I am a fan of the comic book and lore. The team had pretty precise story beats but was open to various location sets. This allowed us to venture out and push the Art-Style and game environments to further the character arc.
Working as a Senior Layout Artist, my duties and contributions consisted of creating proxy meshes for the environments to final layout/placement of the environments and set pieces. Lighting was also a major gameplay mechanic with "The Darkness". This allowed me to really push the limits of Light and Shadow contrast as well as composition within the scenes.
